United Way of Miami County is accepting new applications for agencies

wishing to receive funds from the 2017 Fall Campaign, payable 2018. Applications

can be picked up at the United Way office located in the Community Resource Center

at 13 East Main Street, Peru, and are due back no later than noon Jan. 26, 2017. To be

eligible, any new agency must have a 501c3 status and provide social service programs

that benefit the citizens of Miami County.

This year’s volunteer committee is comprised of members of the United Way

Board of Directors and other citizens of our community. Applying agencies will be

expected to answer and explain how their agency fits into the United Way’s mission

statement. The United Way of Miami County mission statement is: to provide direction

and accountability to promote education, health, and financial independence.

After the question and answer sessions the Committee will then make

recommendations to the United Way of Miami County Board of Directors. The Board

will vote at the regular April meeting on which agencies will receive funds from the 2017

Fall Campaign. The amount that each agency will receive is determined after the Fall

Campaign is completed, based on donor pledges. Anyone with questions can call the

United Way office (765) 473-4240, or E-mail unitedway@uwmiamip.org.
