Two new people were appointed to the Planning Commission this week according to Mayor Gabriel Greer's office.
Mayor Gabriel Greer announced his appointments to the Planning Commission as Joe Molyneux and Vincent Edmunds.
According to a press release from Mayor Greer’s office, Molyneux has been a resident of Peru for 10 years and is currently employed at Grissom Air Reserve Base as the Maintenance Squadron Programs and Mobility Manager.
“I truly appreciate the opportunity to serve this city,” Molyneux said. “I look forward to working with you and the members of the board towards the advancement of our city.”
Mayor’s Greer’s office reported Vincent Edmunds is a versatile professional skilled in the areas of strategic planning, data management, program implementation, budget management, business operations, research and analysis, as well as communications.
Edmunds has been a resident of Peru for nearly two years and currently runs an internet Blog site called Aces+ with co-founder Austina Reed. Aces+ is a public membership blog site which seeks to help its members achieve and maintain health wellness.
“I’m just excited to be a part of Peru’s continued growth,” Edmunds said.
According to Mayor Greer’s office, Edmunds also has worked for Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the nation’s largest non-profit community and economic development corporation, where he provided strategy, resource development and communications support and linkages between the national headquarters in New York and local offices located in the South and Midwest regions.
He is a 1987 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
These appointments now mean the Planning Commission has seven of its nine positions filled, according to the Mayor’s Office. The commission plans to move forward and have its regularly-scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 8 at 6 p.m.
